A trek suited to all levels, taking in village life, orchards and mountain.
Just an hour drive north of Taroudant, you find yourself at the foothills of the High Atlas mountains, culminating at 4165 meters with Mount Toubkal. The route goes as far as the quitet village of Imoulass where Luc and Rachida keep a charming guest house. Rachida, a local Berber, will take you for a trek in the surroundings if it’s a half a day you’re looking for. For more serious treks, Luc will arrange an overnight tent, mules and an extra local to cook meals for you. But even a half a day trek is highly rewarding as you are walking up the mountains, crossing picturesque Berber villages and rock climbing by the river bed. You are much less likely to meet other tourists here. The southern slopes of the High Atlas enjoy a somewhat warmer climate so this trek is best done from September to May.
