Trekking Imlil

Half a day or full day trek around Imil in the High Atlas.

Imlil is the most convenient location for trekking when you are spending some time in Marrakech. A little more than one hour and a half away from Marrakech by car, it dwells at 1800 meters altitude and is the base point for those interested in the ascent to Mount Toubkal ( 4165 meters high). Imlil is a charming Berber village, if somewhat a little touristy, given the popularity it enjoys also with the Moroccans, so avoid Sundays if you can. This 2-3 hour trek gives you a taste of the local Berber way of life and focuses on the area around the village. Your guide will adapt it to your level of fitness. It involves passing the river, walking under the canopy of trees, crossing a typical Berber village and then stopping by the local waterfalls, to then redescend on the village. You can also stop and have a tea and incredible views on the terrace of Kasbah Toubkal. The trek is best done all year round but more so between March and November.
